WAAG’s Foster Care Program

We are so thankful for those who are able to foster for WAAG! A young momma cat, just a kitten herself, was found in an abandoned car recently, along with her 2 babies. Someone noticed the kittens inside and gave them food, hoping that the owner would show up in the meantime. It became obvious, after a few days, that the kittens were also abandoned and left to fend for themselves. WAAG was given permission to remove the kittens in order to provide proper care. We are happy to report, they are thriving in WAAG’s Foster Care program where they were treated for fleas and worms. All were recently spayed/neutered and vaccinated. While they wait for their fur-ever home, their foster care home sees that they are fed, clean, warm and entertained - who can resist kittens at play?!

Wicked Success!

A WAAG Howloween fundraising event, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, was a huge success. We had a blast judging the costumes, handing out treats, and seeing our community come together for a fun afternoon. Thanks to donations of pet food, our Pet Food Pantry is a little fuller, and our local animals in need are a little less hungry! Winners of our raffle drawing included one lucky dog who received a yummy gift basket, donated by the Farm Dog Bakery in Longview and another pooch is in for some major pampering with a Spa Day thanks to Willow Tree Dog Spa in Cathlamet! It is a humbling experience to receive so much support from the Chamber of Commerce, local businesses and neighbors. The love of animals brings out the best of all of us! Thank you so much.
