July
We’ve been waiting patiently on the sidelines, chomping at the bit to get out and connect with the community now that COVID restrictions have eased.
July was our month! We are so happy to be able to get out and meet with our neighbors once again.
We were invited as guest speakers to the Cathlamet Library’s “Tails and Tales” Summer Program. We had a blast talking with kids from 5-15 about their favorite subject . . . ANIMALS! It’s our favorite subject too . . . we even brought a couple along for show and tell! We were able to share with them how to safely approach an animal they do not know and to identify signs of an animal that might not be too friendly. These kids were on top of it! Most have pets of their own and knew more than just the basics. It was fun to hear them tell us stories of their own furry friends. Cathlamet’s Bald Eagle Days celebration was another WAAG success! Thank you to all who stopped by our booth to say hello or dropped a few dollars in our donation jar. Greeting cards featuring our very own Wahkiakum cats were available for purchase! All the proceeds we collected benefit the animals right here in our own community. We handed out business cards and brochures to those who aren’t familiar with us. Financial Aid applications were available for those who were interested in our spay/neuter discounts! We made lots of new friends and saw many more old friends who stopped by to cheer us on! Milk bones and water was a big hit for our thirsty four legged friends!
