Wendy was born and raised in California and grew up surrounded with a variety of pets. Advocating for animals started at the young age of 12 with her first TNR and has been successfully re-homing animals of all types ever since. In 2019, shortly after relocating to the charming town of Cathlamet in southwest Washington, she saw a need for some type of animal advocacy within the community. The vision turned to action and after countless hours of dedication and perseverance WAAG was born!

"My dad would tell me I was like a "Miss Dr. Doolittle," she says. "I started to become more involved with local animal rescues while being a foster parent, animals are very therapeutic."

Jenny has been rescuing animals after discovering an abandoned kitten in a field when she was 8 in her small hometown of Nikiski, Alaska. She has been fostering, adopting, and rescuing cats and dogs ever since.

Professionally she has spent her life working in various non-profits and always drawn to help where the need is strongest. She has managed a group home for people with disabilities, as well as a domestic violence shelter.

"It has been a lifelong dream" Jenny says, "to help create a non-profit devoted to helping vulnerable animals."

Amy has loved animals for as long as she can remember and has always surrounded herself with pets, even in her dorm room in college. Growing up in California, Amy volunteered with her local animal shelter by socializing cats and walking dogs.

After moving to Cathlamet, one of Amy's first priorities was finding a rescue to volunteer with. Before joining WAAG’s Board as Secretary in 2024, Amy was a WAAG foster parent and volunteer. She is currently a fur mom to 2 rescue cats and 2 rescue dogs (pictured here with her first rescue dog, Willow). Amy is looking forward to continuing WAAG's mission of advocating for animals in Wahkiakum County.
