Mobile Vet Clinic Bringing Affordable Care to Wahkiakum County
Residents of Wahkiakum County will soon have a unique opportunity to access affordable veterinary care for their pets, thanks to Serenity Veterinary Care, a mobile clinic based out of La Center. Known for their commitment to community service and their passion for providing care to patients in the comfort of their homes, Serenity is expanding its outreach to Wahkiakum County this spring.
Since 2020, Serenity Veterinary Care has served the greater Vancouver area through partnerships with programs like Meals on Wheels, ensuring that pets belonging to homebound seniors and individuals in need still receive quality veterinary care. Now, Serenity is bringing that same spirit of compassion to local pet owners in Wahkiakum County.
On April 12, Serenity Veterinary Care will be onsite at the Skamokawa Grange, located at 18 Fairgrounds Rd, Skamokawa Valley, to provide preventative care services at discounted rates. Available services will include wellness checks, vaccinations, and other routine care designed to keep pets healthy and happy. A follow-up clinic date has already been scheduled for May 10 to administer any necessary booster vaccinations.
To participate, pet owners must fill out a registration form in advance. You can complete a form here: Mobile Vet Clinic Registration, or pick one up in person at the Jabber Shack (located at 65 Main St, Cathlamet) during their business hours, 12-4 pm Tuesday - Saturday. For those who cannot access the internet or make it to the Jabber Shack, registration is also available by calling 360-779-1672. After April 1, Serenity will contact registered pet owners to schedule appointment times.
Space is limited, so community members are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Registration will be closed on April 1. Seniors aged 65+ and first responders will receive a 10% discount on services. In addition, those who need assistance with transportation can reach out to WAAG for support.
It’s important to note that this mobile clinic is for preventative care only - pets experiencing illness or emergencies should be seen by a local full-service veterinary clinic. If a pet is found to be ill and unable to receive vaccines, the exam fee of $50 will not be waived and the pet will need to receive care at a regular clinic.
This special event marks a valuable opportunity for Wahkiakum residents to ensure their pets stay healthy, all while enjoying the convenience of local, affordable care.
