WAAG Howloween Pet Food Drive
Saturday, October 29th @ 1 pm at Erickson Park - Cathlamet
Welcome all ghosts and goblins, and their little dogs too . . . WAAG is joining The Wahkiakum County Chamber of Commerce for another Howl-o-ween afternoon in the park!
We can’t wait to see what crazy costumes the kids and their 4-legged buddies are going to be wearing this year! The Dog Psychic is back, reading your pets paw to see what’s really going on behind that furry head of theirs. We brought back the Dog Pie Eating Contest because it was absolutely hysterical . . . and the dogs LOVED it last year! An afternoon with crazy kids and dogs doesn’t get any better.
WAAG will be accepting Pet Food donations to stock up our pantry for the holidays!
We are in need of:
Canned and dry pet food for dogs or cats
Kitty Litter
And as always, any spare change or cash donations are always appreciated
Update!!
We had a fun afternoon with the Chamber of Commerce. Locals and their dogs, showed off their creative costumes for the judges, hoping to place in the Best Costume Contest! Sheldon, dressed as an airplane, and his “zombie pilot” owner, Dana took home 1st place for best costume! Lila (Chihuahua) took home 2nd place as a pirate . . . aaarrrgh, and what a fine pirate she was! Cowboy (St. Bernard?), the drag queen was all sparkles when he walked away with 3rd prize! Ruger (Labrador) and his owner Amy beat out all the other dogs in Muscial Leashes. Roxie, the mermaid, won Softest Coat! Sebastian was voted Best Behaved (and made for an awesome little taco!) Snoopy wasn’t sure what to think with all the fun and games . . . but he sure didn’t think twice when it came to the pie eating contest! He not only finished his pie, but cleaned up all the pies around him too!
Congratulations to the winners of the raffle prizes! Two pooches are going to be pampered for the holidays thanks to gift certificates from Aunt B’s Boutique Dog Grooming and Willow Tree Dog Spa!
WAAG’s Pet Food Pantry is a winner too! We collected 55 cans of pet food in addition to 74 pounds of dry food. There was a little cash “treat” in our donation jar as well! All of the donations will be feeding hungry pets right here in Wahkiakum County this winter season!
Thank You for supporting WAAG and spending the afternoon with us!
